Wednesday 30th March – walk **** – Circuit of Landguard Nature reserve – cloudy.

The cloudy weather continues with only very brief glimpses of sun, the day started badly when my 66-day run in ‘Wordle’ came to an end but that’s life! Was not sure we would do anything today as it looked cold out just like yesterday so while I did my exercises Mag watched the Ukraine, so tragic what is happening there the world has gone completely mad:( Then it looked to be brightening up and with light winds we were tempted out, after making a yummy chicken sandwich we decided to drive to The Manor car park and despite my dodgy heel which makes walking uncomfortable that we would do a circuit of Landguard Nature reserve hoping to see some Linnets, so I took my big lens. Leaving the van at 12.45 spotting a magpie in the caravan park and over to the brambles near the docks but sadly no Linnets today just a singing Dunnock. We made a detour to the view point but not much boat action today, the tailor ferry had just come in and the rock dredger was out but not much else as we headed for our spot on the old jetty. We shared our sandwich with a pair of Herring Gulls with one feeding the other with was lovely to see:) Then back across the reserve with flocks of small birds and several rabbits, then a quick stop at Lidl before home for a cuppa with delicious homemade sponge:)
There is a couple of really windy days coming but very cold with talk of sleet or even snow as the wind is from the north! So with 45 mph winds tomorrow will give tomorrow a miss but am keeping my eye on Friday for maybe a trip to Bradfield, will have to wait and see. Was pleased to get a small pic again in the local paper!
